Taking on the Balsam Invasion! If you've been keeping up with our recent activities, you'll know we've been busy carrying out inspections along the river. One of our main concerns is the spread of Himalayan Balsam, which is currently taking over about 13% of our riverbanks. Not ideal! So, what are we doing about it? Well, yesterday our team headed out to trial a new removal method. We're keeping the details under wraps for now, but we're hopeful it will prove to be a real success in controlling this invasive species. Of course, we're not just focused on the balsam. We also took the opportunity to give the drain a good clear-out while we were in the area. Every little helps, right? We'll keep you updated on our progress and let you know how the new balsam removal technique works out. Fingers crossed! 🤞 In the meantime, why not take a stroll along the river and see if you can spot any balsam? Let us know in the comments below! 👇
