Cameron Lowndes
Hello, my name is Cameron Lowndes. I joined the Green Party because I’m fed up with seeing people who are already struggling being pushed even further down. Too often, Labour talks about fairness but ends up making decisions that hurt those who need the most support.
Jack Mellor
I'm 27 years old and I joined the Green Party in recognition that for young people, the neoliberal agenda of the last few decades has failed to fundamentally give us a steak in life: We have had consecutive governments who do not believe in the state being an active participant in the economy to improve in living standards intervening where the market has failed, it has abolished the social contract, privatised and sold off the economy, crippled the bargaining power of workers, all in the name of market forces and the hegemony of capital. Freedom of capital is not the same as freedom of the individual, and the Greens for me are the only major party standing for fundamental change of this system to a fairer one, to fight the class war and not the culture war. They've given me hope.
Jake Gumbleton
I joined the Greens because I believe if we want to have hope and create real change, we have to step up to try and help in whatever way we can. I care deeply about the existential threat of the climate crisis and the ecosystems that support us and the other creatures on our beautiful planet. Beyond climate, I believe The Green Party offers our best shot at a fairer country, and ultimately planet. It's truly democratic nature and the fact it takes no money from big lobbyists or billionaire corporations make it clear that it is a party of the people, for the people. I have met so many passionate, kind and brilliant people locally since I got involved. I am proud to be part of our lovely East Staffordshire local group.
